Once again, Newton Manufacturing lent its support for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Central Iowa by participating in their Bowl for Kids' Sake event. The company sponsored three teams of employee bowlers to help raise over $500 for the organization.

"We had a great time and it's the first year we've had three teams," said Carla Kolpin, captain of the "Livin' on a Spare" team who participated the previous four years. "I'm just glad the donations weren’t based on how many pins we knocked down."

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa's mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one relationships with measurable impact. The annual Bowl for Kids' Sake fundraiser is the organization's most important event. Funds raised from the event go toward carefully screening volunteers to ensure the safety of the children in the program.
