Industry Veterans Join Newton in Strategic Growth Initiative
 

Dan Livengood, Robin Hand and Sara Umbarger, three promotional products industry veterans, have joined Newton Manufacturing Company, a top-40 distributor in the promotional products industry.

Livengood and Hand both join as senior sales managers. Livengood will work with the western region and Hand the eastern region. Their primary responsibilities include the management, retention and growth of Newton’s sales revenue, creating top-line growth of core programs and creating innovative sales initiatives.

“We’re enthusiastic about the hiring of Dan and Robin,” said Jay Donlin, executive vice president of Newton. “Each has a proven track record in the field and we’re looking forward to utilizing their solid business experience to help our representatives reach and exceed both personal and business goals. We especially appreciate how both individuals demonstrate current marketing approaches to drive new business through key accounts and strategic partnerships.”

Livengood has 20 years experience in full-service agency sales, sales management, promotional advertising, marketing, public relations and graphic arts. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in management and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He has served on the board of many civic organizations including United Way, Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce, Toastmasters and Salvation Army to name a few. He resides in Newton with his wife of 26 years, Leann and son Adam.

Hand has 27 years of experience in selling and sales leadership in the promotional advertising industry. During this period of time he has worked at one of the largest apparel manufactures selling corporate programs, a Top 40 Supplier selling writing instruments and 4 Top 50 distributors selling and leading sales teams. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Education. Hand resides in Marietta, GA with his wife of 37 years, June.

Umbarger is joining Newton in the capacity of customer sales consultant and will assist representatives with client retention. Sara has 12 years experience in the promotional products and while working primarily in customer service and sales, she also has a strong background in managing and developing corporate fulfillment programs. Sara has a business degree from Marshalltown Community College. Sara, her husband Rusty and their two children, Mallory & Reid also reside in Newton.
