Newton Manufacturing Company is excited to announce that their Newton Idea Catalog is a finalist for an Image Award from the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI). The catalog is a key sales tool for the company and their nationwide network of independent contractor sales representatives.
“The Newton Idea Catalog is an exclusive offering and part of our brand recognition, and to have it considered as one of the best in the industry is very exciting,” said Molly Beavers, Newton’s senior marketing manager. “We are very honored to be nominated.”
The catalog features a select mix of new and popular promotional products from preferred industry suppliers. It is published annually and over 50,000 copies are distributed across the country each year and accounts for over 15 percent of the company’s annual sales volume.
“We try to make it an essential resource for our representatives and their customers,” Beavers explained. “In addition to the attributes of a product, we carefully consider the supplier’s safety compliance, customer service responsiveness and overall quality before we include it.”
To publish the catalog each year, the company’s Marketing Department sorts through hundreds of submissions to choose the final product selection. After that, their Graphic Design team designs the layout of the catalog. The company has published the catalog for over 25 years.
Over the past several years, the company has taken steps to make the catalog more valuable for their sales force including personalized direct mailings, ecommerce sites and a flip digital catalog. These enhancements were not part of the nomination process.
PPAI’s Image Awards are new this year and recognize members’ efforts in establishing their brand identities and promoting their products with creativity and effectiveness. The Newton Idea Catalog was nominated in the Distributor Print Catalog category. Winners will be announced at the PPAI Awards Presentation & Reception on Wednesday, January 2, 2012 during the PPAI Expo in Las Vegas.
